Thank you, Adams County Farmers Market, for standing up for the hungriest among us, unlike our US Representative, multimillionaire John Joyce, who would rather deprive hungry people of food assistance (SNAP benefits) then extend subsidies for healthcare. And in other news, even before those subsidies expire ACA premiums are already increasing substantially next year for many, many Americans. Kelcie explained that my banner couldn’t be used because it had the word, “Democracy” but if it said, “They died for our Freedom” or “They sacrificed for America” that might have been okay, but “Democracy” was not. She even added that my name was a problem & only “red, white, & blue” colors could be used. When I asked for clarification, she repeatedly claimed that it was “a gray area” and alluded to potential controversy. But the “Freedom,” or even “America,” Kelcie refers to doesn’t come from monarchy, fascism, dictatorship, or authoritarian rule. Freedom only comes from Democracy. I am a proud descendent of not only ancestors who served in World War II & postwar Germany, but others who served in the American Revolutionary War, Civil War Union army, & World War I. When I, a woman, campaign as Beth Farnham for Congress, I honor them, whether I carry their memorials in the colors I wish or I promote my slogan, “Choose Democracy.” They sacrificed so I could be free to do exactly these things. The Lions Club claims to be politically neutral, non religious, but in the Mercersburg Halloween Parade 2025, at least 2 churches were authorized whose messages include, “Feed us with your grace, and grant us the treasure that comes only from you, through Jesus Christ, our Savior and Lord” & “We exist to share the good news of Jesus Christ by reaching out to others…” from their websites Not subtle, especially if someone isn’t expecting any church to be in a Halloween parade. And yet, squeezing out democratic norms, but asserting Christianity, happens all the time in PA-13. It’s why church events & participation are widely visible, but no Chambers of Congress, no newspapers & no institutions of higher learning in the District have ever sponsored a debate between me & Rep. John Joyce. Let's fight the creeping christofascism & #ChooseDemocracy instead!

Malone was considered a longshot. The 36th Senate District, which includes small towns, farmland, and burgeoning exurbs, backed Trump by 15 percentage points in November. It has not elected a Democrat since being moved to south-central Pennsylvania via redistricting in the 1980s.

Calling candidates losers is self-defeating and never running a candidate *because they might lose* guarantees loss.

Running a candidate, no matter the odds, means a chance. And we saw extraordinary change within PA's state senate race in the 36th district in March.

Because Republicans in Congress won't commit to affordable healthcare, now the hungriest Pennsylvanians can starve. You read that right. Democrats in Congress are protecting COVID-19 ACA premium subsidies while the Republicans would rather shut down the government than agree to this.

And that it all started with our Declaration of Independence. Like the Revolutionary Founders of this country, we believe that ALL are created equal, that we are endowed with certain inalienable Rights, such as Life, Liberty and the pursuit of Happiness.
