Athey averaged 35 to Crawley's 32 in first class cricket. But to be fair to Crawley his Test average is rather better (31 to 22)

I thought I was a rarity in being disappointed by what the original Rentaghost - absolutely one of my "don't miss" shows at the time - became. Others younger than me clearly remember the later series very fondly.

Japan's "Mundane Halloween" costume contest is back!

Each year website DailyPortalZ holds a contest where people dress up as something super duper ordinary.

Here's a thread of some of my favorites from the 2025 contest!

Thanks for the tip, never heard it before. I liked Miss America a little later. Any other recommendations for less well known 80s acts would be welcome

Loved the first two Through The Square Windows. I feared nostalgia for nostalgia's sake, but this was properly researched and entertainingly presented. Can't wait for the next one.

When I saw you'd interviewed Grace I thought, this'll be good. She didn't disappoint.

Exactly this, the connection between people. I recall one particular children's book where the art work was so astonishingly bad. Could it have been improved with AI? To me, no.

Journalists, broadcasters, fans - stop relying on ESPNcricinfo for women's cricket balls faced records, especially slow-scoring stats.

Their database is woefully incomplete for pre-2000s women's cricket (this also applies ot Cricbuzz who have just replicated the same incomplete scorecards).

Where nobody knows your name... Tracing the anonymous faces at the start of Cheers.

Ever wondered where all the Cheers title photos are from? I did. And I've gathered everything I can find into this post. That was fun.

I enjoyed the interview with Liv. Her dual status with Glos and Glamorgan has meant there have been times when I've been delighted by her wickets, at others dismayed. That game at Cheltenham was special, I think it won the team a good few supporters

It will come as no surprise to you to hear me say I love this article! I am not of the opinion that NV Play is authoritative here - I think if a team was hit by this edge case they'd have a right to appeal it. I rather wish it would happen so that the regulation gets a rewrite.

You've got the wrong target here Raf. If you're talking about Ed, he's a genuine supporter of women's cricket over many years. Not saying he spoke right here - I was scoring, not listening, so didn't hear it - but he's solid.
