Halloween is one day at the end of October. Itself the day before the big day of All Saints Day. Do we really need a month to ‘celebrate’ an eve of a festival? It just seems a little strange.

Currently listening to this. Absolutely superb. Spent last night in Bristol watching Bristol Classical Players do Beethoven’s Symphonies 4&5. Oh. My. God!!! It was sensational. Absolutely my favourite gig of the year, so far.

Many Div 2 fans expect Durham to go straight back up again. The ease by which Yorkshire bowled them out was alarming. Will there be many/any departures in the winter? And what of Archie Bailey? Will he be lining up in the Durham attack next April, in the County Championship? Or does 2nd XI beckon?

And how are you spending the first day of winter, Mr. Emmerson?
