Renewables + electrification = an energy revolution ⚡
Let’s unpack what it all means

Cooling demand soared to nearly 3 TWh this hottest July in records in Türkiye, equivalent to the annual electricity consumption of 600,000 homes ⚡
This sharp rise shows how the summer heat directly increases Türkiye’s power demand.
Each 1 °C requires about 0.77 GW of extra generation capacity.

Yükselen sıcaklıklar Türkiye’de yaz aylarında elektrik talebini hızla artırıyor 🌡️
Ülke ısındıkça, ortalama sıcaklıktaki her 1 °C’lik artış, klima kullanımındaki büyüme nedeniyle fazladan 0,77 GW elektrik üretim kapasitesi gerektiriyor.
In the hottest hours of summer days, over one-tenth of Türkiye’s electricity is used for cooling and this share can reach up to 18% on extremely hot days
Solar energy peaks at the same time as cooling demand, making ☀️ a KEY solution for maintaining grid stability.
Soğutma talebinin zirve yaptığı saatlerde güneş enerjisi santralleri de en yüksek üretim değerine ulaşarak, ☀️’i şebeke istikrarı için DOĞAL çözüm haline getiriyor.

Heat pumps are vastly more efficient than gas heating systems.
With the right policies they can also be significantly cheaper from a total cost of ownership perspective.
