cutting down a tree? the 18 volt was far too small, and the 40 volt chewed through three full charge cycles of a 4 Ah pack for a small ornamental orange tree.

If I'm doing extended demo sessions? yes. the battery powered one I have goes through the small 3 Ah packs I have, and the larger 6 and 9 Ah packs mess with the balance of the saw.

I have a pair of chainsaws (one w/ 18V and the other w/ 40 volt packs) and they work well enough for limbing.

OH! the office I go to? they use an Xray emitter that looks like a giant power drill, and it's battery powered as well. makes getting imaging of the teeth a LOT easier, especially as they also have a USB connected sensor that captures the image- no more film.

I'll note that LFP batteries are starting to make it into that arena as well, although the units that use them are still more expensive over their lead-acid counterparts.

That's called "the government didn't mandate a standard, so we can do whatever we want".

There are companies that sell adapters, but their quality can be suspect- I don't use them myself.
