There are probably a handful of congressional dems who deserve to keep their jobs. The problem is we can’t tell because all the decision making is done behind closed doors. So we primary everyone.

The whole point of the uncomfortable holdout is to materially improve lives for constituents long term. Moderates either don’t know or don’t care or are so scared of doing something they themselves aren’t sure one way or another. So the easy way out is to cave.

Politics is inherently uncomfortable. Representing hundreds of thousands or millions of people is hard. If you don’t want to at least try and meet that challenge head on, then resign.

Exactly. Republicans are destroying everything good about the country and the only way we have to slightly slow that process, and continually highlight it to everyone, is the shutdown fight.

If it turns out to be true that democrats caved on the shutdown for a “promise” of a vote on healthcare, man. I just don’t know where we go from here.
