Their voices stayed the same, but they weren’t frozen in time; they were growing, spreading their wings—unknown to them, I was going to make them reckon with consequences beyond their control.

I renegotiated my understanding of who Saras and Ko were, while also going on the same journey, myself.

In real life, I changed my hair. I lost my dogs. The world changed, our planet was irrevocably altered, and I carried new perspectives, joys, and concerns.

On Primus, Saras and Serenity Ko had been busy, too. They learnt things while I was away. They acquired new desires, sharper ambitions.

I came back to the FLAVOUR HACKER universe expecting familiarity. And I found oodles of it, delighted by faces who felt like friends and places that felt like my second home… but I also discovered that time had been busy, within and without.

INTERGALACTIC FEAST will be out in less than a month in the UK/ North America (from @solarisbooks.bsky.social ). And I’m reminded of what it was like to sit at my desk and draft this sequel to Interstellar MegaChef.

✨ My travels took me hiking in the Bernese Öberland, to the Scottish highlands, and medieval villages in France.

I listened to classical music in Salzburg + Vienna, revisited stomping grounds in Paris + Florence, and spend time with friends in London, Bologna, Singapore, Bombay and New Delhi.
