What are we even doing here? I am very sympathetic to the idea that LLMs are excellent at "translating" ideas from one linguistic context to another. Inter-language translation, plain-text English specs to rigorous computer language are examples they work well.

And "summarizing" emails from coworkers is very alarming to me, especially if they're writing emails with LLMs. One person uses a lossy amplifier to expand their thoughts into an email, the other person uses a lossy filter to compress them back
