What are some of the legitimate grievances that are driving people to Reform?

A dual national I know described the UK as being New York prices on Alabama salaries, and that is true…

This has been compounded by the Brexit thing, our economy has just not been growing, wages have just not been going up. A lot of children are growing up in poverty. So there are real, real things that are wrong with the country.

That said, would I say that Reform is channeling those legitimate concerns? No, Reform is primarily about opposition to immigration. It is about a committed revulsion-based opposition to a multiethnic multiracial society and a symbolically equal citizenry. It is a true far right party.

Brits often don't think about it in these terms, we see them as like β€œcheeky chappy conservatives” but that's because Brits can be profoundly fucking stupid sometimes. They are a far right party.

And to the extent that they're positioning themselves as being able to answer those economic problems they do so by way of immigration. They do so by way of saying β€œwhat's gone wrong? And why we're having these problems is because too many immigrants are coming in.”

And I stress that that is not a concern that can ever be addressed. It's not something that you can ever give them: something that will make them happy because it is not based on anything real. Britain in fact in terms of asylum claims, for instance, actually really shirks our international obligations in terms of the numbers of refugees that we resettle when there's a crisis in Syria or Afghanistan. Other European countries are way more generous than we are. There are reasonably high levels of immigration right now but that's because we need it: Our care sector would collapse without it, our HE sector would collapse without it.

People still are tragically underestimating what this is doing to our societies.
The rich got richer and richer, super rich, mega rich. They are dictating policies.
So it gets worse β€” and they get richer. It tears our societies apart.

You will not see a more tangible encapsulation of the genocide. A war of utter annihilation waged as a joint enterprise between the Israeli state on the ground and its allies in consistent support. The debt of reparations that the West owes to the Palestinian people at this point is incalculable.

Calling Starmer's Labour right-wing might seem silly, but their politics are clearly more performative than ideological, and the performance shows:

1. They're Conservatives with an inferiority complex and,
2. They loathe the left for exhibiting the moral fibre they think distinguishes them in 1.

β€˜Self-termination is most likely’: the history and future of societal collapse An epic analysis of 5,000 years of civilisation argues that a global collapse is coming unless inequality is vanquished

For thousands of years, we have been parasitised, exploited and destroyed by elites. Our survival depends on overthrowing them.

UK will recognise Palestinian state in September unless Israel agrees to Gaza ceasefire and other conditions - live updates Starmer says the UK will take the step at a UN meeting unless Israel makes

The 147 other nations that already recognise Palestinian statehood do so because it is the right thing to do, not as a threat or a bargaining chip. God, what a grubby, venal, craven embarrassment of a country this makes us look.

Politics has become middle management for technocracy, and platforms turn the individual into both product and producer on their digital fiefdoms, feeding us whatever gets engagement to keep us hooked, with truth and accuracy being thrown in the waste bin.
