12.11.2025 20:25 β π 550 π 150 π¬ 179 π 94I asked Georgetown law prof David Super wtf is going on with this latest demand for states to claw back benefits already sent out.
He says the law doesn't allow for this, and if the USDA is mad that states already sent out SNAP money, too badβthey were following USDA's own guidance. Full comments:
For the second time in a little over a week, ICE officers reportedly shot someone in Los Angeles.
This time, it was a US citizen who ICE officers shot from behind after he warned them that children would soon gather for the bus where they had pulled over a vehicle.
The USDA sent an email to grocery stores telling them they are prohibited from offering special discounts to customers affected by the SNAP funding lapse.
I'm aware of at least 2 stores that had offered struggling customers a discount, then withdrew it after receiving this email

Trump's mechanism to pay the troops during the shutdown is by far the most illegal budgetary action he's taken as POTUS, potentially setting the stage to break everything.
It's also needless because Congress would easily pass a troop pay bill if Johnson were willing to gavel in.
Long thread.
Carney: "We can't control the trade policy of the US. We recognize it has fundamentally changed from the policy in the 1980s, 1990s, 2000s, & it's a situation where US has tariffs against every trading partner... what we we can control is developing new partnerships, including w/econ giants of Asia"

In June of 2015, Roof, a white supremacist and Neo-Nazi, entered a church in Charleston, South Carolina, and gunned down nine African-Americans after they invited him to take part in their Bible study group.
