12.10.2025 01:16 β π 46 π 17 π¬ 4 π 2There's a bill on Gavin Newsom's desk right now that would stop monopoly utility companies from adding the costs of their lobbying and PR campaigns into customers' bills.
It's unclear if Newsome will sign the bill, despite 93% of voters agreeing with its premise.

Replacing them with electric industrial heat pumps could deliver huge public health benefits and even save lives.
We were talking about how the oil industry in California will never be its former self today. How production is just not coming back no matter what the regulatory climate. And I found this image from the OC register from back in 2014.
Says it all.

This @zohrankmamdani.bsky.social video is absolutely INCREDIBLE. The numbers he cites, the strategy and results they produced β itβs the future. When have you heard *any* campaign talk about this, ever? (Video split in 2 to fit in Blueskyβs limits)
01.07.2025 16:45 β π 17508 π 4939 π¬ 368 π 1024If Democrats want to win voters with policies that avert catastrophic climate change, they need to bring immediate, material benefits to the working class. That means folding climate policies into an agenda that tackles the cost-of-living crisis. This is green economic populism. Even under Mr. Trump, progressives can build momentum around this agenda in cities, towns and states.

I just like to post these data from time to time to puncture the mythological aura of mid 20th c protests. They were less popular than pretty much any 21st c mass action & people criticizing them used the same lines. Protest is about people coming together, shaping narratives, & building power.
