I firmly believe that there can be no peace until General Klaus retreats back to behind the 11th November Armistice line. The continued Klausian occupation of October cannot be allowed to continue.

We did pass policy on this in March. It's there and we want Informed Consent.

I will be doing this and would suggest everyone who follows me who is in the Party does the same.

I wish the Party didn't make it so darn hard to be a Lib Dem. πŸ˜₯

Was really cool to get out and speak to so many voters who are fed up with Labour. Really feel like we could win this one 🀞🏼

A really excellent letter.

The Liberal Democrats are clear: Trans Rights are Human Rights and we will defend them.

This is an excellent first step Marie. Thank you for speaking up for us.

Look I've put an absurd amount of time (yay ADHD) into rewrites of Star Trek Episodes. I might write this.

My most recent rewrite was making Three and a Half Vulcans actually good and it's absurd that I managed to do a better job than the actual writing staff with no TV writing qualifications.

We aren't exactly standing up for our values either Mark.

Thank you, Tom - you're quite right. Thank you for all your work as the Lib Dem MP on the Joint Committee on Human Rights. 🧑

The Council of Europe has warned that the UK gov’s treatment of trans people may breach human rights law.

This must be a wake up call.

We’ve seen an increase in hostility towards trans in recent years.

Everyone deserves dignity, safety, & respect - that includes trans people.

This thread really captures where I'm at in terms of my current view of the Lib Dems. I've linked my comment.

@sarahdykeld.bsky.social and @paulkohlersw19.bsky.social are wrong on this issue. Maybe the people attending that conference should question why they're being targeted by direct action protestors and why their opinions and actions are harmful, and the fact that they're building fascism.

12.10.2025 14:24 β€” πŸ‘ 8    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Idk who needs to hear this but direct action and political violence are not the same thing, and without direct action we wouldn't have the vote.

Direct action β‰  political violence. A window and a building is property - nobody was hurt. Let’s not conflate smashing glass with hurting people.

If I was an untethered trans voter right now who wanted a Party with a leader who would unflinchingly and unreservedly back me and my community, I'd find it hard to vote LibDem right now, because @eddavey.libdems.org.uk has steadfastly refused, over and over, to back trans people when it counts.

A picture of a huge crowd of Lib Dems, including Alex Cole-Hamilton MSP and various MPs, standing outside the Brighton Centre, which has a huge Liberal Democrats decal on the main windows, all holding an enormous Trans Pride flag in the sunshine, at their Autumn Conference in 2024.

We thought the Brighton Centre looked much better when the @libdems.org.uk had our conference there a year ago.

Demonstrate that we are better than reform. Demonstrate that we are inclusive. Be unapologetic that immigration is good actually.

Press the public face of the Party (Ed Davey) that only going after the Soft Tory vote is a bad idea.

This isn't a local issue it's a national one.

Well no we boosted our vote by 10 points in a held ward, meanwhile the fascists get 20%. That's not holding the line to me, that is being outflanked by racist, xenophobic rhetoric.

SHOCK POLL:
NIGEL FARAGE WILL BE PM TOMORROW
IN an amazing poll conducted
by The Pointless Polling Company, it was revealed that voters' intentions
may well change over the next three and a half years and at present it's 100 percent impossible to guess what the next government might look like.
However, 99 percent of journalists
agree that it would be much more fun if we had an election tomorrow and everybody resigned and everything was chaos and Farage had a go at being PM, just for the hell of it, because it was so much fun when
Brexit happened and then the government kept falling every five minutes and we could write endless pieces about (cont. p94)

Private Eye offers up an excellently scornful commentary on the relentless polling. It’s become ridiculous and has oversimplified our politics to dangerous levels of stupid and irresponsible.

We're just not though. It was Zack Polanski running rings around Reform in QT last night. The Greens have overtaken us in members. We are being outflanked and HQ is too blind to see it Ed.

With respect I think you're missing the point. I don't want the Liberal Democrats to be the Tories-Lite. I want us to be a capital-L Liberal Party that utilises the State to empower the individual and is unafraid of big investment to make society better for everyone. Tories don't do that.

10.10.2025 06:40 β€” πŸ‘ 1    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

They did park a recruitment van outside the Tory Conference and Ed Davey spent his entire keynote conference speech pitching the LibDems to Tories.

09.10.2025 14:29 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

The strategy, so I've been told, is to target seats, not votes. So the votes they're supposedly going after are the soft Tories who voted Tory last election and probably got a Tory MP but are disgusted and likely terrified by Reform.

But a lot of those already voted Labour.

I am getting quite fed up with the LibDem Leaders Office insisting that the only politically-engaged people worth talking to are ex-Tories.

I don't want fiscally conservative anti-investment austerity supporting Tories in my Party. I want left leaning folks who place individual liberty first.
