The people who 'consult' with the Council on these kinds of things are a self-selecting group with too much time on their hands and very fixed views on what sort of people they want in 'their' area,I feel. We desperately need to protect our environment, but you don't do that by excluding people.

As he and the Greens become more successful, you can expect to see increasingly spiteful and fabricated stories appearing in the right wing media. I hope he's prepared himself.
