a good test to see if you really learned a subject is when you start constantly spotting the dodgy stuff AI writes about it (at least in geometry processing and until they give it a cortex).

Computing the exact bijection of the optimal transport (OT) problem between very large point sets is completely untractableโ€ฆ

In our SIGGRAPH Asia 2025 paper: โ€œBSP-OT: Sparse transport plans between discrete measures in log-linear timeโ€ we get one with typically 1% of error in a few seconds on CPU!

โ”How to compute bounding volumes for procedural Signed Distance Fields (SDFs)? This is not so trivial!

๐Ÿ’กWe propose a simple method called Sphere Carving. It extracts (convex) bounding volumes around SDFs, requires very few evaluations, and is GPU compatible.

How are the user requirements recognized with what you have in mind?
purely through natural language, or also via demonstrations, corrections, simple constraints?

I'm technically in an affective computing lab and humanizing tools is one way you can ease understanding.

1/3) This may be a very important paper, it suggests that there are no prediction error encoding neurons in sensory areas of cortex:

I personally am a big fan of the idea that cortical regions (allo and neo) are doing sequence prediction.

2: "I don't think we have any proof of that"

1: "Why are you defending Hitler? You just want to be a contrarian"

I keep seeing this discourse pattern.

One of the Dreamliners That Gave a Boeing Manager Nightmares Just Crashed Whistleblowers always warned that passengers would pay a price for Boeingโ€™s tyrannical corner-cutting, especially with the planes shipped overseas.

The latest from our star Boeing reporter Maureen Tkacik: turns out a whistleblower said it would take 10-12 years for 787s to start failing. The one that crashed into an Indian hospital today was built in 2014. prospect.org/economy/2025...
