That's not very Dortmund-y of him...

Probably worth noting that Haaland has now either scored or assisted 67% of Man City’s league goals this season. He’s world class. So I guess that’s not too surprising. But it is a bit weird that all of Guardiola’s other forwards are just a bit… meh. If there’s a plan I’m not sure we’re seeing it.

Wasn’t terribly impressed with Man City today. Created very little, struggled to pin Brentford back and aside from a great Haaland goal (which was a real solo effort) did nothing to win the game. Neville spent the game moaning about Brentford, but I thought they probably deserved a point.

05.10.2025 19:45 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 2    πŸ“Œ 0

Yeah, feels like a really weird and poorly executed trend.

05.10.2025 17:07 β€” πŸ‘ 0    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

I know people say Haaland is *just* a striker (I.e not Mbappe) but he made a goal out of absolutely nothing there. Incredible skill.

Why Michael Olise is truly thriving at Bayern Munich The Frenchman is the first true playmaker in Bayern's squad for quite some time.

Michael Olise isn’t just a good player for Bayern Munich.

He’s on a completely different level to the rest of Vincent Kompany’s attack:

They could resign him because public sentiment from the fans demanded it. I’m not saying that’s what they did. I’m just talking theoretical.

If you subscribe to the notion that Liverpool planned to let Salah go this summer (along with TAA) before he had *that* season, it is quite funny to consider that they’ve went ahead with this huge rebuild anyway… but just kinda have to put it on ice for another season.

The result also means that Dortmund remain undefeated this season, but that was a very muted performance. BVB looked tired. And where key players like Guirassy or Adeyemi have thrived this season, they looked a little too blunt today. A good time for an international break.

04.10.2025 15:36 β€” πŸ‘ 6    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

The draw means that Leipzig stay third in the table and are now unbeaten in their last five league games. Ole Werner’s side clearly benefitting from no mid-week European games, but still very impressive. Not exactly the managerial flop that some Bremen fans may have expected (or hoped) would happen.

04.10.2025 15:36 β€” πŸ‘ 3    πŸ” 1    πŸ’¬ 1    πŸ“Œ 0

Dortmund and Leipzig settle for a draw. The visitors perhaps more likely to take all three points in the second half, but one apiece feels like a fair result. BVB far from their best. Leipzig seem to be improving with every passing week.

A very well contested match at the Westfalenstadion. RB Leipzig definitely started the game better, bagging an early goal from the set piece, then Dortmund grew into the match and scored an equaliser. Leipzig definitely threatening in attack. Dortmund will need to control the game more.

I know both goals were essentially deflected shots, but I feel like Darlow and Vicario could have done a lot better in either situation.

Career-high goals and assists - Harry Kane's evolving role at Bayern Munich this season Bayern Munich head coach Vincent Kompany will have a number of options to pick from when he puts together his team to face Eintracht Frankfurt on Saturday. The Belgian tactician has rotated his full-b...

Harry Kane is scoring AND creating more goals than at any other point in his career.

And that’s down to Vincent Kompany tweaking the England striker’s role in his team this season:

I can’t believe how quickly Alien:Earth went from being a wonderfully nuanced blend of Bladerunner and Alien to some crap Scooby Doo farce on an island in the space of just eight episodes.

Basically the TV version of this meme:

That Barca defeat was also the last time Kovac's Dortmund side lost a match - the CWC is glorified friendlies - which means the club have now gone 175 days or 15 games without losing in 2025.

The result now means that Niko Kovac has lost just one of his first eight games in charge of Dortmund in the Champions League. The only team that have beaten them are Barcelona.

A really solid performance from Dortmund tonight. They faltered a little bit when Bilbao made it 2-1, but then marched back up the pitch and bagged another two goals. The Spanish side were far from full strength but still a tricky opponent. A good win.

01.10.2025 21:21 β€” πŸ‘ 7    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 3    πŸ“Œ 0

Pretty decent first half from Dortmund. Got the goal through a lovely back-post finish from Svensson and controlling the match for the most part. Bilbao haven't had too many chances at all. Another goal or two in the second half should wrap things up.

01.10.2025 19:47 β€” πŸ‘ 2    πŸ” 0    πŸ’¬ 0    πŸ“Œ 0

Eintracht Frankfurt have conceded 19 goals in their first eight games of the season.

And, by my count, they’ve only played two good teams so far…
