Poor Pretty Eddie & Je Tu Il Elle & Gate of Flesh have been on my mind a lot lately. But they are movies I can't comfortably recommend to another person. I think they are each very special though.

This also feels structural. There is no agreed opposition party leader or shadow cabinet as in parliamentary government. Only governors & ultra-tactically-focused House & Senate caucus leaders. Jeffries & Schumer are unfit for purpose now but thatโs endogenous to the system. Juan Linz was right etc.

1933 has Orry Kelly costuming that is just out of control gorgeous. Orry Kelly understood light and texture like no one else. I can't remember if he did '35 or '37 with the shortest hot latex pants, but those are burned into my brain forever.
Zola was better than Spring Breakers by a long shot.
