The Toronto conference was so much fun! Looking to the future I definitely think other Canadian universities would be the way to go. Or maybe one here in California unless Gavin Newsome *completely* sells us out, which is looking more and more like a possibility...Sigh.

Gutted courses, fewer majors, faculty layoffs: Who will feel Cal State's 8% budget cut? In his budget proposal, Gov. Gavin Newsom included a Cal State budget cut of nearly 8%. System officials say that will force major cuts.

A proposed 8% budget cut would devastate the CSU system. Typical Newsom to undermine this absolute gem of public higher ed in California at a moment when we should be doubling down on investing in education.

CA is bluer than blue and we're facing major cuts, particularly to (surprise!) the liberal arts and humanities. Our campus president sent out an email to faculty yesterday offering buyouts for voluntary separation agreements. It truly is everywhere.
