Had colleague show me around the bigger city adjacent ‘cash and carries’ about 25 yrs back. That was one hell of an education and has served me well… Most inner city supermarkets, and old mill town supermarkets are pretty well stocked… bar brown mustard seeds that have vanished everywhere!

There’s a god tier Gujarati veggie place in Ashton (about 6 miles East of Manchester)… which is built into the only Hindu run food wholesalers in the local area… love that place Alas 700 yards from the 60p veggie hotdog serving Ikea….

At the risk of being boring (great song!!!), up to 4th….

As far was I can make out… the terms are more Gujurati/Bangladeshi than the ones I’d run into in Manchester south-side…. The grocery seemed to be serving the non-Punjabi/Mirapur communities more (even bigger markets serving those goods guys outside…)

I’m now on the ‘scenic’ route to Ashton. Anything for a cheap vegan hotdog, free coffee, apple pie, polish beer and charity shops unspoiled by hipsters…
