oof, this wildfire smoke is serious business. I was outside for barely a minute and now I smell like I'd been sitting at a campfire for hours.

A young girl walks down a moving walkway ahead of her parents at the airport on her way to her gate, and big adventure ahead.

Bortle 7/8 skies, in the Twin Cities. I'd love for much darker skies, but still very impressed with what I can get so close to two major downtowns.

The Seestar has a dual band light pollution filter and it does a pretty good job.

A deep space image, with a Whirlpool shaped galaxy at the center of the image. The Whirlpool Galaxy is actually two galaxies merging. The smaller dwarf galaxy (M51b) is connected by what is known as a tidal bridge to the larger galaxy. The pair will slowly merge over millions and millions of years.

M51, the Whirlpool Galaxy. The first galaxy to be classified as a spiral. It's brightness and relative closeness (only 23 - 31 mly) make it an easy thing to observe.

Captured tonight with 1h 28m of 10s exposures. In app processing +contrast brightness

Finally a clear night that isn't negative insane temps. Time to get some deep space imaging done. M78 Casper Ghost Nebula is the target.

image of the Orion Nebula, a deep sky object nearly 1344 lights years away. Stars, seen as mostly small dots of white light, are scattered about the image. Near the center is a brightly lit cloud of nebula gas and dust that appears to be lit from within. The shape and structure of the cloud is like an opened flower, lit from inside by young, energetic stars. The dust and gas of the nebula has colors of red, green, and yellow in this image. Light from the various stars within the nebula also create shadows, giving the nebula definition and depth to its appearance.

Orion Nebula - captured from my backyard with my Seestar S50 - Post processing in Lightroom.

This is a stacked photo - roughly 150 - 10s captures. The neat thing though about Orion is how quickly it starts appearing when capturing it. #seestar #astrophotography #astronomy #M42
