When a federal agency can shoot Americans in the street and the administration’s first instinct is to smear the dead as “domestic terrorists" or an "assassin", it’s beyond reform.

That’s why I’m calling for ICE to be abolished—and why I’ve cosponsored legislation to impeach Kristi Noem.

The Grammys have to be one of the worst things, like clearly not the worst, but at least on the list next to some types of fungus

When I first saw it in the early 00’s, it was one of those movies that totally rewired my brain.

Happy you both haven’t succumbed to the Southern Snow Madness that tends to corrupt the brains of all that live there. We’re into our second week of the frozen tundra (10 high, -10 lows) and I’m starting to lose sanity.

O’Hara was incredible forever, on SCTV, the Christopher Guest movies, Beetlejuice, Home Alone, etc. But she didn’t become as famous as her talent warranted until her 60s. Suddenly it was like everyone caught up to her, and she could’ve worked forever. To have her taken away at this moment? No.

Well, recently I ordered 6 4Ks from that Amazon 3 for $33, House with Laughing Windows 4K from BN— oh and the new George Saunders book and the Yumi Zouma record coming out this week.

When my anxiety ramps up, I order physical media.

It’s great (an outlet for chronic anxiety!)— but I also currently don’t have any assignments and I’m doomscrolling (see above, re: anxiety) which means I’m not tracking down new work or writing this script I promised a guy.

Bruce Springsteen - Streets Of Minneapolis (Official Audio)
YouTube video by Bruce Springsteen Bruce Springsteen - Streets Of Minneapolis (Official Audio)

I wrote this song on Saturday, recorded it yesterday and released it to you today in response to the state terror being visited on the city of Minneapolis. It’s dedicated to the people of Minneapolis, our innocent immigrant neighbors and in memory of Alex Pretti and Renee Good.

Did Don DeLillo Invent the Racy Hockey Novel?

I didn't know I needed to read this today, but the kicker is especially hilarious.

I love DeLillo. As much as anyone I know, but he needs to ease up on this novel. It’s wonderful — not high art, but a well-written dalliance, a sometimes necessary confection.

One of my favorite stories.

At some point they must have mistook the fun of referential irreverence as lust for broader *reverent* connectivity. The MCU certainly nudged them in that direction, but the fact that they considered SPECTRE a success speaks to just how creatively bankrupt they already were.

26.01.2026 18:03 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

Exactly. Skyfall should have been the end of the Craig era. And there should have been two core James Bond frivolous as fuck movies in between QoS and Skyfall.

26.01.2026 16:49 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Making three movies about Bond regrets and being too old for this shit should have been snuffed out during the creative process, but we deferred to Mendes because “oh important director making important movies” nonsense. Give me Martin Campbell, jerks. He knows why people watch James Bond.

26.01.2026 16:46 — 👍 2    🔁 0    💬 1    📌 0

Alienating the core fans by detailing a previously understood but purposely never detailed James Bond trauma and then making him monogamous and a father? GTFO. It’s the same Blofeld bullshit in reverse. They neutered Blofeld the minute you knew anything about him. Same with Bond.

26.01.2026 16:42 — 👍 1    🔁 0    💬 0    📌 0

I was down on QoS after my theatrical viewing, but after the #Bond_age_ live tweets it really crept up my rankings. It’s more fun than Skyfall and a far better “Bond” movie than anything that came after it. The let’s take James Bond f’ing serious creative angle just suffocated the franchise.

#3. We Begin at the End by Chris Whitaker

This melodrama falls outside my usual reading roster, I had to admire Whitaker’s skill w/ narrative. Some of it felt over-written, but when the plot rolls downhill towards its numerous reveals, the author shows his true talents. #2026ReadingList #booksky

Imagine the reaction on the right if federal agents had killed someone under precisely these circumstances and any non-Trump Administration justified it because the person was carrying a concealed licensed handgun.

As every single “conservative” apologist should be asked to address.

TEXT: I was Alex Pretti’s final nursing student. He was my friend and my nursing mentor. For the past four months, I stood shoulder to shoulder with him during my capstone preceptorship at the Minneapolis VA Hospital. There he trained me to care for the sickest of the sick as an ICU nurse. He taught me how to care for arterial and central lines, the intricacies of managing multiple IVs filled with lifesaving solutions, and how to watch over every heartbeat, every breath, and every flicker of life, ready to act the moment they wavered. Techniques intended to heal.
Alex carried patience, compassion and calm as a steady light within him. Even at the very end, that light was there. I recognized his familiar stillness and signature calm composure shining through during those unbearable final moments captured on camera.
It does not surprise me that his final words were, “Are you okay?” Caring for people was at the core of who he was. He was incapable of causing harm. He lived a life of healing, and he lived it well.
Alex believed strongly in the Second Amendment and in the rights rooted in our Constitution and its amendments. He spoke out for justice and peace whenever he could, not only out of obligation, but out of a belief that we are more connected than divided, and that communication would bring us together.

TEXT: I want his family to know his legacy lives on. I am a better nurse because of the wisdom and skills he instilled in me. I carry his light with me into every room, letting it guide and steady my hands as I heal and care for those in need.
Please honor my friend by standing up for peace, preferably with a cup of black coffee in hand and a couple of pieces of candy in your pocket, just as he would. He would remind you that caring for others is hard work, and we must do whatever it takes to get through the long shifts. Step outside with your dog, breathe in the world, hike or bike as he loved to do, and let yourself find peace in the quiet moments within nature. Stand up for justice and speak with those whose views differ from your own. Hold your beliefs with strength, but always extend love outward, even in the face of adversity.
Take one step, no matter how small, to help heal our world. Through these acts, carry his light forward in his name. Let his legacy continue to heal.
