My only contribution to the discourse around mentioning your prayer life is while there is a sizable real crowd who dislike religion because it has caused a myriad of injustice, there is a bigger crowd who just dislike religion because they think you following it is dumb and weird ⚓️

the thing is the ‘tism makes me super self aware. Without a manuscript, I’m worrying I’m repeating myself or I’ll end up doing something odd with my face. With a manuscript I’m saying words I believe are very good words and can feel comfortable expressing the mood I wrote into the manuscript/notes.

I get it all intellectually and I know how to not form unhealthy attachments just with people I like and all of the healthy and important jazz but damn it really seems like the consensus is don't be friends

its just not how I grew up! In evangelical world, My family is friends with their pastor and they have dinner. My college pastor had friends in church to call him out and help him grow in holiness like /all/ of us need. I think mutuality in ministry is realizing all christians can call shit out.
