The Northwest is growing into wildfire areas. In fact, high-hazard regions are where the population is growing *fastest.*
As of 2023, almost 1.6m people in the NW lived in wildfire hazard areas, an 8% increase since 2018.

As a Tacoma-UW Seattle commuter (via King St Station), I appreciate the regional significance of the combined 1 + 2 Line train frequency through Downtown Seattle.
It'll reduce my wait times at ID/C + UW, which will cut ~5 min in each direction for some trips. That adds up over many commutes!
