This is how I am approaching it too. Unsubscribed from NYT and WaPo and I’m basically checking out of most social media. I have to pay attention to some stuff for work, but will only do that on working hours. Refuse to let them terrorize me like they did the last time.

I finally just put on some dancy music and am doing nonstop bits and pieces of things. I need to move and do shit. Brain isn’t working anymore.

Stress baking with a tummy ache and zero appetite.

I know I am too old to stay up all night and then go to work the next morning. Thankfully last night I didn’t have to stay out too late. I still did, because pics or it didn’t happen, right? Amazing night to remember how small we all are!

Though it’s extra weird because parts of western NC are in a literal rainforest. And have had smaller scale catastrophic floods before. And the lowlanders are used to rain bombs. I guess they thought it couldn’t happen there? I dunno. I am so out of patience right now.

Yeah the Certified Smart People Thoughtleader adaptation crowd have often pointed to Asheville as a climate migration spot in the southeast because 1) no SLR and 2) it’s cooler in the mountains. That crowd was also stunned last summer to learn Vermont floods too. This shit is my day job. I am tired.

That program sort of exists in the US but it relies on local government allowing the property to be taken off the tax roll AND the owner is willing to sell. It takes so long that many who start the process give up and rebuild or they walk away.

My coworker and i were just talking about this, and how this is one of the reasons why so many people think government isn’t doing anything.

This one especially. Moderates who want the credit, but not do the work are the hardest for me to deal with these days.

Oh this is good timing. My dreams have been completely bonkers with weird climate threads throughout lately.

For someone trying to ditch social media, I sure create a lot of social media accounts these days. No this is not a return to posting regularly, but more about trying to keep my eyes on all y’all and ensure my daily plans complement the weather.
