On another platform, an established creator (known but not famous) who isnt known for posting politics, made a political statement that has all of his peers replying with "WTF are you serious with this opinion?!" and there is no follow up. His subsequent posts are just biz as usual. World is weird.

Related (but the reverse), I also find it weird when people refer to a character in realtion to story in a movie solely by the actor's name as if the actor IS the character. Schwarzenegger being the exception.

My original story characters are living beings in my head, but I don't talk about them as if others should accept them as real. Yet, the vast majority of other creators talk about their characters as if they're talking about real people. That is odd to me, or am I the one missing something?

Helped Frank Black (Pixies) load his equipment into the trunk of his Cadillac after seeing him perform. He then drove off into the night.

Funny, I read it as "older" and didn't notice the typo until now.

Good to know. I can tolerate less than compelling characters if the sci-fi is off the wall. (Looking at you, Three Body Problem series)

In an interview I think in 2024, Howey was asked about AI and his take was something really flip and nerd "edgy" along the lines of "the sun is going to go red giant in about 5 billion years and destroy all life in the solar system so it doesn't really matter so you might as well use AI."

He's a nice guy, but seems to get really worked up and agitated, and curses as he works. He also has relaxation music (like you'd hear while getting a massage) playing on his phone. So I guess he's trying.

The contractor the landlord sent talks to himself and yells at himself when he drops a tool or something, so it's like there's not one but TWO people tearing apart my bathroom on a Sunday morning.

Family who don't get why freelancers who make their own schedule are always busy working: when anything unexpected happens, it's the person w/ the flexible schedule who usually deals with it, so we're constantly working in preparation of possibly losing an afternoon to help a friend with car trouble

So many books in the 2010s with titles like The Girl in the Title of the Book.

I can get self-conscious about being a creative around strangers. A contractor was doing some work in our house and I mention something about the Superbowl, because that's a normie thing, and dude's all "that's this Sunday? I don't keep up with that stuff." Made myself the normie for no good reason.

I know, right? Maybe I'll just stick to dead authors lest my borrowing causes other authors to spontaneously out themselves as chat GPT users or something.

He posted an image of his wife as a cavewoman saying (paraphrasing) "I was bored so I was playing around with AI and made this." Like, not the end of the world, but akin to saying "so I asked chatGPT...." Ugh.
