well, a question i wish tactical voting advocates would ask themselves more often is "if everybody votes tactically, how do we know who we should vote tactically for?". coming to a conclusion like this tells me stop reform are at least considering this.

Israel has been dumping herbicides throughout southern Lebanon as part of a concerted ecocide campaign to render the region uninhabitable. This has been going on for months with Lebanese journalists & environmentalists regularly reporting on it.

it's not a one for one comparison, but, y'know there was a time when preventing the spread of HIV meant criminalising homosexuality.
i dunno if it's a helpful comparison either. but there's something i can't articulate about the knee jerk reaction to liberal ideas about drug misuse.
imagine seeing results like that for any other medical problem. take HIV as an example, also sexually transmitted. lots of people have varying strategies for dealing with that, but for the most part, we went with the one that worked - enable safe sex, better sex education, stigma free treatment.

Labour has been pushing lies about the Greensβ policy on reducing drug misuse. This is a policy that has already been very successful in Portugal. It has reduced harmful drug taking by ending the so-called βwar on drugsβ.

In addition to being a very uncomfortable dog whistle, this framing is completely the wrong lesson to take from the Epstein news. Itβs about how widespread and pervasive misogyny and sexual abuse really are. This framing lets most of society off the hook too easily.

The clip doing the rounds is of a fantastic police officer telling a group of Muslim men that a Christian preacher nearby is entitled to freedom of expression.

This is all because bigoted dickhead judges have decided to warp the Equality Act over the years, not only to protect homophobia and transphobia but also racism and Islamophobia as just a couple of other examples.

You can fire them because of their behaviour, though, if that's bigoted. But you'll probably still find yourself at a tribunal. Or in court, fighting Rowling's wallet.
