Right, so we could end up with the next Kyle Rittenhouse AND his angry racist grandpappy as ICE agents.
29.10.2025 23:08 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0For context, when I was in the Army, we had 8 weeks of basic training, but that was just to prepare for advanced training--about another 20 weeks, in my case. LAPD spend 6 months in the academy, followed by 18 months of probationary service under the supervision of a training officer.
28.10.2025 05:44 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Like ICE isn't already bad enough. I was just reading where they've dropped the training time for new recruits from 13 weeks (which was already too short) to just 6 weeks.
28.10.2025 05:43 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 1 π 0Wait until he hears that Reagan didn't trust the Russians.
25.10.2025 21:31 β π 23137 π 4605 π¬ 449 π 160So they didnβt like the ad. Letβs just post Reaganβs 5 min speech against tariffs as it appears on YouTube.
Over and over. On all platforms (some of yβall are still on X).
*1981 Sherrilyn horrified by 2025 Sherrilyn saying βletβs post Reaganβs speech.β

A screenshot of a post on X that reads: Cuomo, talking to conservative radio host Sid Rosenberg this morning: "God forbid, another 9/11βcan you imagine Mamdani in the seat?" Cuomo asks. "He'd be cheering," Rosenberg says. Cuomo paused and chuckled before saying: "That's another problem."
Just disgusting.
23.10.2025 14:40 β π 14743 π 2219 π¬ 622 π 324The average age of U.S. homebuyers is now 56, up from 49 last year.
In 1981, the year trickledown economics began, it was 31.
Just read the whole thing, and....wow.
Yet another example of Hannah Arendt's old observation that dictators prefer incompetent subordinates who are incapable of earning any influence other than what the dictator provides.
CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1965: 20-1
CEO-to-worker pay ratio in 1990: 75-1
CEO-to-worker pay ratio today: 280-to-1
Trickle-down economics was always a sham.
Nothing has ever trickled down.
Last year we bought nearly $200 worth of the small sized stuff and STILL ran out, so it's gonna have to be even more this year.
I swear, somebody's busing kids into this neighborhood...
Government and banking should both be boring.

10.10.2025 01:19 β π 3 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0This is nothing more than a continuation of the presidentβs desperate weaponization of our justice system.
I am not fearful β I am fearless.
We will fight these baseless charges aggressively, and my office will continue to fiercely protect New Yorkers and their rights..
Since its obviously going to be revealed by Pam Bondi's relentless investigation, I might as well go ahead and tell everyone: I am the ANTIFA Director of Propaganda, Western Division, Southern California Subdivision, Burbank District.
(We're very organized, you know).
Also, we've done it for less entertainingly.
06.10.2025 17:11 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0From that family liberal rag The Economist:
06.10.2025 06:59 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0History & philosophy of science: that was my PhD field. As Harry had been laying out here, it's definitely one of those, "the more you know, the more you know you'll never live long enough to know most of it" sort of things, as are most things worth really diving into...
06.10.2025 06:44 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Yup. Former reservist, myself, and damn near nobody who eliste ever thinks they will, or wants to be, deployed domestically for anything but disaster relief or something like that. This shit is, of course, batshit crazy.
06.10.2025 06:37 β π 0 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And, of course, as those of in Los Angeles recently learned, these federal deployments without local coordination always go so, so smoothly.
Hang in there, Chicago; we're all in this shit together.
Record everything. Post everything.
OMG, literally just spoke to a friend in Portland a couple of hours ago (about matters unrelated to Trump's derangements). She's furious that so many of her friends and family in other areas are worries and messaging her when literally NOTHING is happening there.
06.10.2025 02:53 β π 2 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Dude, in some ways, the starkest illustration of how much Trump & Co have fucked up this country is the frequency with which I find myself agreeing with: Bill Krystal, David Frum, Max Boot, and, yes, the Cato fucking Institute.
04.10.2025 02:25 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0And this is exactly when those of us (read, me: cis, white, male, late fifties, with plenty of money in the bank for retirement) who aren't automatically targets of this regime need to speak up and make it clear which side we're on.
Just sayin'
Wow, it feels weird to have one of my most liked posts be a takedown of Scalzi's burritos.
I mean, I like Scalzi, and I like burritos.
Given, what he's willing to call a burrito is a fucking abomination; but still, don't we, as a society, have some bigger fish to fry right now?
Just sayin....
Wow, it's like they don't have anyone on board who's even, like, googled what it takes to monitor a site, let alone done it, let alone monitored the WHOLE FUCKING INTERNET!
03.10.2025 23:57 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Um, John's eaten grosser burritos, right?

Too far, Harry, too far.
You are about to begin reading Italo Calvino's new novel, If on a winter's night a traveler. Congress has not authorized the use of military force.

Win: win.
In any other country, if federal agents fired upon journalists when unprovoked β what would we call it?
If federal agents marched down streets demanding papers β what would we say?
Authoritarianism β letβs not pretend itβs something else when it happens in our American cities.
