Botanist, worried about all the good things worth protecting. There’s a fight ahead; we need to be gentle with ourselves and each other so we can have the energy we’ll need. We also need more of us to be COVID safe. They’re coming for our health.

All of the money that changed hands in the Teapot Dome scandal totaled less than $10 million after adjusting for inflation, and it was considered so corrupt we still teach it in high school government classes a century later.

Where are you getting your test kits? We are down to our last one and Altruan will not ship to the US anymore.

Stay strong! I’ve got lupus too and mask in public. I think people don’t like the reminder that things shouldn’t have gone back to normal, because COVID is still here. We are the ones paying attention to the research & unfortunately the more research there is, the more correct we are to be careful.

Well, COVID causes brain damage, quite possibly every time we catch it. That adds up year after year. The less cautious you get, the more you catch COVID, the worse your brain function. It’s a bad cycle.

There are several of these being studied right now. An American one, was super promising, but I think it lost funding with the current regime. However, there’s one in Spain, another in France and Japan. The Japanese one is I think in human trials. We may get out of this mess eventually.

49% of covid cases are asymptomatic. Every infection causes cumulative damage.

Flu-A Subclade K is incredibly transmissible

Vaccines alone can’t keep us from transmitting / catching covid and Flu or getting long covid.

Consider wearing an N95 / FFP3 respirator.

The thesis of the book is that early COVID lockdowns weren't worth it and mid-COVID mitigation measures like masks, contact tracing and business closures don't work.

This is laughably false and the authors have endorsed the people now running Trump's HHS.

Yes, @weeklyshowpodcast.bsky.social because it looks like vaccines, while great at keeping us from severe covid infections, they don’t appear to stop long covid & they don’t stop brain damage or long-term lowering of immune system. I’ve tried to find research to say otherwise, but cannot. Can you?

What a disappointment @governorferguson.bsky.social is turning out to be. Without a livable planet, there is no point to anything else. Climate has to become the highest priority, it’s obvious.

Which sea level will we choose? (If we agree to @governorferguson.bsky.social’s raid on Climate Commitment Act funding, we may be choosing the higher level)

Next year's artists signed contracts to perform at "The Kennedy Center for Performing Arts." Since a venue with that name no longer exists, and one with a very division name many artists would not wish to be associated with does, they should be able to get out of their contracts.

This anodyne BS is how the NYT summarizes the most corrupt presidency in US history.

Trump said he didn't know what Project 2025 was; he lied.

He said he would get prices down; he lied.

He said he'd only deport criminals; he lied.

He started wars and attacked his own people.

YouTube video by Katie Phang Trump’s WAR on Judges ERUPTS as Violent Threats Surge

There has been a startling & disturbing increase in violent threats against judges who rule against Felon Trump.

I break down the latest data from the US Marshals Service & detail the hypocrisy from the Far-Right who accuse Democrats of promoting political violence.

One big Holocaust education issue in the US is that people don't know the difference between a concentration camp and an extermination camp (though the two were often linked), so they assume that people referring to a "concentration camp" are being unfairly hyperbolic in a case like this.

So Bari Weiss’s first real editorial intervention at CBS is to repress coverage of American concentration camps.

another reminder that 49% of covid infections are asymptomatic.

meaning you can be sick and infectious without knowing it.

testing is the only way to catch these infections, so you can get paxlovid (if possible), rest, and isolate.

Trump likes to say that INFLATION came from Biden,
but the fact is that the inflation under Biden
was caused by the Covid Pandemic under Trump.

Trump blames Inflation under Biden
on money Biden sent to Americans to help them thru Covid.

Trump sent stimulus money too
WITH HIS NAME ON IT, of course.

I think so too. All the very cautious people who I know, threw caution to the wind after catching covid. They masked everywhere, but after they caught it, it was like wearing a mask stopped making sense to them. Like Covid makes you want to catch it.

"Why is the flu so much worse than before and why are people getting Norovirus?" they ask, and the answer is that we are now experiencing the cascading system failure in public health experts predicted Covid would cause, per its weakening of human immune system functions.

As of tonight, the Ellisons also own TikTok. So now our media is almost fully controlled by fascists.
