idk if it's a 5e play culture thing; a look over the popular content on DMs Guild or kickstarter or "Game Master's Book of_" series will show LOADS of third party 5e supplements with tables. I suspect it's as simple as WotC wanting to push DMs directly to their campaign books and DnDBeyond.

it's true, I was powerless to stop myself from searching every UK-based rpg store until I found an available copy.

the plugins for Owlbear seem to be getting better. There's a fairly solid Lancer one now, iirc. There's debate over whether the extra features of v2 are detracting from the simplicity that made v1 appealing.

Owlbear is neat if you want a lighter, easier Roll20-style battlemap VTT with 3D dice rolling.
I left Owlbear to use a combo of Miro + Discord (w/ dice bots + kenku.fm for ambience/audio); I find Miro nicer for laying out all character sheets and visual aids in single window, and dont need the grid.

Footy scran is always indefensible but if you ever find yourself in England go to a decent chippy and get yourself a battered cod (or jumbo sausage) with chips and mushy peas. Feed the fam for £17 and knock a year or two off your lifespan. Is it good? Objectively no… but you’ll walk away happy.

Seconded - I had a browser bork while casting my vote on phone, switched to PC and realised nothing prevents a double-dip. Trying to avoid casting a second vote on certain categories was a fun memory puzzle.

It's WILD there's nothing meaningfully preventing one zealous fan from voting 100 times.
