Map of expected extreme fire weather conditions on Wednesday (from NOAA SPC). Most mountain areas in SoCal are highlighted, along with some other portions of SoCal.

Another significant fire weather event in SoCal Mon-Wed this week due to strong #SantaAna wind event (inc. very low humidity and warm temps). Little or no rain has fallen so far this season in this part of the state, so critical fire risk is likely to be widespread. #CAwx #CAfire

I really like GOES - Geostationary Operational Environmental Satellite.
Some interesting GOES links: cimss.ssec.wisc.edu/goes/goesdat... : near realtime imagery, etc.
Animation: all 16 bands of the GOES-16 Advanced Baseline Imager. There are 2 visible bands, 4 near-infrared and 10 infrared bands.
