Excellent condition dyers polypore. If you don’t dye you can dehydrate and gift or trade. They make great yellow, olive green with iron, and the dye in amazingly uv reactive. Like, safety yellow under uv black light. Very cool find. Tree is dying.

Apothecia, the disk-like structure, is the reproductive part of the fruiting body. Very sexy. Also usnea is nature’s antibiotic. Cool find.

Cool!! I enjoy making yarn that glows in uv light (black light) using mushrooms and plants. Dyer’s polypore glows safety yellow under black light. Bloodroot glows orange. I want to make one with a hidden message 😉
