Das Buch muss ich unbedingt kaufen. Ich war mitt ihm in ein (online) Seminar wo er seinen Recherchen vorstellt. Leider es war die Pandemiezeit und ich hatte nicht die Gelegenheit mit ihm weiter zu unterhalten über die Beziehung Ludwig Raiser/Ernst Rudolf Huber in Vor- und Nachkriegszeit

Trieste has everything - culture, sea air, food (can suggest a great fish restaurant on a pier), Hapsburg, Italian, Slovene influences, old city, plus history - Churchill's Iron Curtain fallung from Stettin to Trieste, real borderland

Trainable - Frecciarossa from Paris to Milan (though not on interrail but avoids sncf) or maybe easier Geneva to Venice and change.

Trieste is just great - and only a half hour train ride from Gorizia/Nova Gorica - the once Cold War divided city/ies that is this year's European twin capital of culture
