I'm just so tired. I'm a trans guy. This guy was giving me hell about my chest, which I want removed. He screamed "do you have t*** or not" about five hundred times in front of children. I wanted to die. I still do.

Maybe the worst part was my therapist met the manager while he was openly complaining about me in a bar. My idiot therapist told him I'm her patient so now I'm out a therapist because that was telling him way too fucking much

Manager wound up fired, haven't seen the yelling guy in a while. Saw him at target once. Fucking weird. Saw the guy who stood up for me. Wanted to thank him but lost my nerve.

I had trouble safely leaving the store. He fought with another guy in line about who would want to f me. The manager did jack shit. The guy yelling kept saying he was his friend. He said some of the worst shit I've heard in a while. The manager called him a good customer.

I had a guy harass me in a store recently and it was the straw that broke the camels back. I admit I lost it. Store wouldn't do anything so I stood with my camera out and got into it with him in the goddamn dollar general. I said all of three words but he screamed 20 min in a transphobic tirade.

For me it was about survival. There was a lot of pressure on the LGBTQ community at that time (and here we are again) and I never heard anything good about Kerry that I didn't hear he flipped on on LGBTQ rights. Voting in a way that supports us hasn't always been clear cut.

I agree, to a point. It's the job of the candidate and the party to reach out to voters and tell them who they are, what they're about and why they should be trusted. It wasn't about having a beer with someone for me, I wouldn't have a beer with Bush either...

It's actually hard to even think about how I felt back then because since then I've been to college (I was homeschooled) and learned about socialism and anarchism and put together my own alignment. But as far as politicians, I find few I like or trust in any way.

It's part that the candidates are losers, it's part that the advertising isn't appealing. I guess that's kind of my thoughts on it.

I'm just annoyed as heck the Dems couldn't convince someone like me that they werent better than bush. I realize I was still brainwashed and not super reachable but when I look back at the campaign it wasn't great. Everyone knew who Obama was and what he was about. Kerry felt like such a nobody.

So we needed money, and we were scared the gov could fuck us over worse than they were

So we voted as best we could for our best interests. We believed bush would give money to the military, and we would see it. My partner and I were struggling and planning on being unable to marry and get those benefits.

I had left Christian fundamentalism right before that and was trying to come out as gay while my partner was worried about DADT. I was exhausted and deconverting and frankly what everybody said was my only source of info on the subject. I got all my info from young airmen. EE didn't know shit...
