I really hope the people leaving these kinds of comments and making “CrimeTok” videos understand that they are making it *so much* easier for conservatives to stigmatize and criminalize women for their pregnancy outcomes.

“It’s not a coincidence that this resurgence of housewife iconography comes at the same time abortion rights have been stripped. What better way to quiet the next generation of girls, growing up without repro rights, than to tell them it’s actually progress? They’re making sexism aspirational.”

Is this really the country we want—a nation that jails women for not miscarrying ‘properly’? Every lawmaker who made these arrests possible owes us an answer. So does every anti-abortion activist claiming they don’t want to punish women.

These arrests—this torture—is no accident. It’s by design.

I have been an Etsy customer for well over a decade. Unless you ban these products and craft more clear, enforced guidelines for your sellers, I will not be shopping on your platform anymore.

They desire moments of levity and escape for no other reason than to confirm such moments still exist. That's something that's been a part of the public radio news model for decades and for so many of our listeners, it is a necessary component of our approach to news consumption.

I personally believe NPR and Michigan Public are doing as well as any legitimate news media facing this new paradigm. At the same time, there are listeners who want to engage with the cacophony but need the occasional break.

The challenge for journalists, of course, is separating the real news from the intentional distractions, which are part of a strategy to force the news media to chase the bouncing balls. Given those challenges,
