100% agree on a bi-directional approach.
As empathy + action = compassion, I'd go a step further and recommend interdisciplinary education + exposure to charity work/ social causes as key to building a more compassionate workforce/ work culture in data/ digital/ tech!

Don't forget to salt and vinegar the chips and slather on some (LOADS) of tartare sauce for an authentic and truly Bri-itsh exp, yah!
