I had some tiny ones drop over the weekend.

Monday is my supermarket shopping day but I didn’t go today for stormy reasons. We’re ok for supplies BUT are all out of chocolate, including my emergency stash. I’m not sure if it qualifies as essential travel. 🍫

Definitely a drop in temperature from last week's summer days. Add heavy wind and rain and we're left with a full-on storm.

Ohhhh, I really should make some! I'm busy wiping down leaking windows while Mr Weka scoops leaves and branches from council trees out of the gutters. We were lucky to have power overnight but I don't trust it will stay on, TBH.

I’m back into my winter WFH uniform of trackies, merino and hoodie today.

Hmm. Not sure my nephew’s Y9 school camp will be a happening thing today. 😳

They discovered the joy of climbing on the neighbour’s roof this week so think they’re bulletproof! 😃

Casey used to play in the rain (although this would have been a lot even for her). The kittens are desperate to play but are scared of the noise and not impressed when water falls from the sky!

So many cars driving on the motorway without headlights. Pretty gnarly on the roads. Glad to be safe at home before the storm intensifies. 🌊

I hope they're intact for you in the morning. My new passionfruit plants now cling to thicker bamboo stakes. We've also tied down the vegepod lid. 🤞

The wind is picking up. Bringing in outdoor furniture and securing what we can before the storm properly hits tonight. Trellis fence is already down.

The kittens are desperate to play outside and probably climb the neighbour’s roof again. They charge out the door, then make a hasty retreat every time there’s a wind gust. 💨

They can help themselves as I foresee many broken tree branches up and down the street tonight!

I’ve cut up two large fallen branches from the huge tree on the council berm outside our home. A third (3+m) broken branch was swinging precariously. We’ve pulled it down but it’s too big to chop up and put in our bin. Fingers crossed there’s no damage once the storm properly hits.

Casey used to play in the rain. She’d come in to be dried once she realised she was wet, then go straight back out again. Yesterday the kittens experienced water falling from the sky for the first time. They were back inside within seconds! 🌧️

Celebrating 18 years of being an auntie today. 🎂🍰🎁🎈🎊

You couldn’t pay me to watch it. I had to study the novel two years in a row at college in the early 1990s. Hated it then. Hate it now. 🤮
