I hadn’t realised what under-representation of Māori there was around the country before wards were introduced. Unforgivable that ‘majority’ aka white rule might destroy them.

These particular parish records when written by a particular parish priest are wonderful for a genealogist. Baby and both parents named, plus the fathers of each of the parents.

07.08.2025 22:33 — 👍 1 🔁 0 💬 0 📌 0I have actually used mine- in genealogy. Some of the Catholic parish registers are written in Latin. It really helped me work out more about my family line in Ticino especially. This is the baptism of my grt-grt-grandfather in 1835 :-)

The current flexibility of NCEA meant she could learn in a way suited to her. Left with NCEA Level 3. Finally Knew she wasn’t stupid.

05.08.2025 00:22 — 👍 6 🔁 4 💬 0 📌 0Worth noting this is not a "research paper": it's an unpublished, un-peer-reviewed university research project—essentially a 10K word essay—on liberal economics written for a Master's degree in political science. No actual conservation biologists involved. The author is now a policy advisor for ACT.
