The system is not made for those who want change/meaningful difference to climb the corporate/government ladder. People get promoted not just because of merit, but also obedience, willingness to keep the status quo etc. Change oriented individuals are stunted because higher ups don't want them

I don't know... I dont think they have anymore familial backing than any other generation. And the no hope imo comes from the not being able to have a house, low paying jobs, high prices etc. But it should push people to fight to change it. Not to mention the right wing swing for young men

I will say the Gen Z not being as loud as other countries is what does surprise me the most. Most previous US protests were led by the youngest generation and I feel this time most people that are at protests tend to be older, Gen x/millennial. Gen Z in the us has no hope so they don't bother

If anything logically we should persevere again, because we have faced problems in the past and fought through them, anti trust laws, voting rights act, civil rights act, lgbt marriage. Sure we have a corrupt authoritarian as president, who says we cant push through it as we always have.

Gotta say I think its ridiculous this kind of mentality. What about all of the problems/oppression we have fought for the last 200 years. Civil rights movement, women's rights movements, LGBT rights movements. The US did horrible things in the past and we still WON, we persevered.

A war in Venezuela is wrong. What ICE is doing is wrong. But putting food on the table for kids, making sure we can get Healthcare (which is tied to a job Ala no strikes) takes precedent than everything else. Im not sure what the line to push people to be in the streets is.
