This message from AOC needs to be heard and she delivers it best. Her leadership brings me a glimmer of hope. We should learn, too, from Jamie Raskin’s example: never underestimate the power of simply saying “I yield the gentlelady an additional 30-seconds.”

It's insulting that news outlets don't respect our intelligence enough to call Musk's salute what it is. Like it or not, major news outlets are important to democracy and we need them to do their job without cowardice.

I've been trying to microdose my usual podcast intake instead of binging playoff football and dystopia all at once. My trigger to pause a pod for a while is any mention of sports betting or a mattress ad. Honestly, it has made me discover so much good music lately. THEN I can finish the pod.

These unequal consequences smack of class warfare and political violence.

It feels like there should be a much bigger discussion about abandoning Meta’s products. Maybe it’s out there and I’m just not seeing it—but the landscape of mainstream social media (can I call it that?) is concerning.

I’ve been running public social media as a teacher and haven’t had my own account in almost a decade. I’m excited to get to engage with *my* interests again, and so far folks like @hankgreen.bsky.social and @minakimes.bsky.social make me think this is the place for it.
