The sun is just above the horizon on the right and its light is reflected in the calm sea. The sky is mostly clear. Further down the coast on the left is a distinctive group of three, interconnected hills.
This week's Blue Sky Art Show theme is: sunlight
Photo: sunset on the LlΕ·n Peninsula, March 2022. The hills on the left are collectively known as Yr Eifl.

06.02.2026 12:10 β π 1 π 0 π¬ 0 π 0Dark moorland in the foreground. A small, square tower squats on the edge of the moor, standing out against the background. That background is composed of pale, overlapping lines of hills and woodland, shrouded in mist, that stretch out into the far distance.
Brown Knoll, Derbyshire.
The small tower sits over the air shaft of the Cowburn Railway Tunnel.
South of these moors the Dark Peak meets the White Peak, the hills of which are layered in the background here.

Today's #BirdOfTheDay theme is #Birds&Berries. A Redwing eating a Holly berry in a garden in south #Cheshire, England.
Photographed in the 1980s on #Kodachrome and published in a field guide to garden wildlife of Europe.

A photo of seven cedar waxwings (Bombycilla cedrorum) perched on thin tree branches that are covered in small dark red berries, against a pale overcast sky. They are medium-sized songbirds with crested orangish-brown heads, black masks across their dark eyes, black beaks, tan shoulders and chests, yellow undersides, gray backs, and gray tails tipped with bright yellow. One bird in the center of the image is plucking a berry from a branch with its beak.
Waxwings and berries for #BirdOfTheDay.

Juvenile blackbird perched on a hawthorn branch surrounded by glossy green leaves and bright red berries. Its brown, speckled breast and soft feather detail are illuminated by warm sunlight, while the bird gazes alertly to the left with a pale-edged bill and large dark eye. The background fades into smooth green blur, highlighting the bird against the colourful foliage.
Good morning everyone. The themes for #BirdOfTheDay are #birds&berries any capture that includes both. The alt is #backlitbeauty any bird capture with the sun light behind the bird. #birds #photography #EastCoastKin

π We stayed in Porthmadog a couple of times and saw it depart but we never got round to taking a ride on it. Must be one of the most picturesque railway trips you can take in the UK.
