I support more funding for the Irish Defence Forces. Better pay and conditions to begin with. Then investment in necessary equipment - especially that needed for UN peacekeeping missions.

But don't prevent some things. So, being NATO members hasn't stopped the attacks. Ireland joining would only invite attacks.

The highest number of first preference votes in any election. The highest percentage of first preference votes in any presidential election. People approved of Uachtarán Connolly like they've never approved of any candidate in the state's history.

Has every country in the region being members of NATO prevented sabotage in the Baltic Sea? No. Prevented drones disrupting airports as far away as Belgium? No. So, it has nothing to do with it. Membership wouldn't help us but would certainly make us more of a target.

But it doesn't. They're not neutral. We are. That's that. That's how it's been since independence. Independence we fought for. From the island to our East which still occupies part of our country. That island being a NATO member which loves fighting wars.

Military neutrality. Not political or humanitarian neutrality.

We don't provide or fund any offensive weaponry.

She was by far the most popular candidate. She would have won whether or not Gavin withdrew. The spoilt votes don't count, do they?

The majority of the population is anti-Nato, pro-neutrality. What has that got to do with supporting Ukraine? Absolutely nothing.
