Skull of the mighty T-Rex! I did my research for this piece so it’s as scientifically accurate as possible. There’s certainly no shortage of Tyrannosaur fossils, during the Cretaceous North America was absolutely rotten with these things.

It started out as a painting on canvas that I decided I didn't like. I titled it 'Prisoner' because the original painting is still under there, never to see the light of day again. This is available in my Etsy shop along with a bunch of my other weirdness.

Guess illustrating my way through Dark Souls III has come to an abrupt end. I learned the hard way that the PC version doesn’t support cloud saves, so my level 65 character is gone to the either. Sigh. Back to Elden Ring…

Time lapse of me sculpting the Fingerslayer Blade from Elden Ring. It’s a metal armature covered with aluminum foil to make the basic shape of the sword. At this stage I’m putting on the first layer of epoxy clay to make a hard shell to build on.

When I visited my Dad last week we took a hike up to Wind Rock. Spectacular view, these photos barely do it justice. It’s located on Potts Mountain in Giles County VA, just a few miles from Mountain Lake Hotel of Dirty Dancing fame.

Went camping last night for the first time in years. Nice to be somewhere I couldn’t hear the traffic.

I’m currently visiting my Dad, and since MVP cut down all his pine trees we have a great view 🤷‍♂️

I finished my sketch of the Elder Ghru from Dark Souls III, and I have to say these guys are more fun to draw than fight. The only time you encounter them you’re knee-deep in a poison swamp.

Another Dark Souls 3 exercise today, High Lord Wolnir. Drink from his cup and summon the Abyss.

Been playing Dark Souls 3 lately, so here’s a little drawing exercise I did today. Everything about this game is creepy. Love it.

Children of the 1980’s will probably remember this guy. These things were ubiquitous in toy stores in the US back then, and they also came in quite a few different colors. Anyone else still have theirs?

Venger, mixed media on paper. Anyone remember the Dungeons and Dragons cartoon? Still holds up and the villains actually feel threatening, Venger especially.

Another one from Blackstar, an 80’s toy line/cartoon series. This was basically a He-Man knock off but the dragon design is pretty unique. I suspect Warlock was inspired by the Japanese Kirin with the whole dragon-horse body style.

Nameless Henchman, ink on paper. Everyone seems to like this ugly little dude. He was from a line of toys from the early 1980’s called ‘Blackstar’ which was absolutely a He-Man knock off.

l've got a box with a few of my toys from the ‘80's in my studio I use for inspiration sometimes. I have no clue what this guy is from, if anyone out there recognizes him l'm curious.

Watching Samurai Jack kinda bummed me out that there's no good video game based on the character, but then I remembered Sekiro exists. You play as a ninja instead of a samurai but it's got the best sword fighting mechanics l've ever experienced. Itch scratched.

Ah shit, here we go again.

Finished my illustration of Pilot from Farscape, ink on paper.

Pilot acts as a liaison between the crew and the living spaceship to which he's been grafted. His first priority is the ship itself with everything else being a distant second.
