Companies Are Trying to Hide Their Ties to Larry Summers - The American Prospect
Some fintech and energy startups haven’t announced that Summers is leaving; they just took him off their websites.
While most companies and institutions that have cut ties with Larry Summers have been clear about why, others have attempted to quietly scrub him from their websites. This just makes his inevitable attempt to return to respectability all the easier. New in @prospect.org

Weeks 42-43: Our Scourge of Elite Impunity
The latest trove of Epstein emails reminds us that the wealthy and powerful face no consequences for even the most egregious acts.
Elite impunity is the name of the game in DC. Trump allies get pardons, corporations walk, and the rich party like Gatsby during a shutdown. For the rest of us: dirtier water, dirtier air, and empty stomachs.

Here’s the status of vital HUD programs:”
Embedded media: a video still of Scott Turner speaking in front of the U.S. Capitol dome. A subtitle bar at the bottom reads: “for families in need, including delayed maintenance and buildings in winter months.”
Since when does Sec. Turner care about delayed maintenance? He just fired HUD's entire building inspection team.

The Chatbotification of the Federal Government
The Trump administration uses AI to fulfill its typical antisocial ends: eroding worker power, violating civil liberties, and reducing transparency and accountability.
Our @hannahstoryb.bsky.social examines how the Trump administration has embedded AI chatbots in its operations, both as feeble replacements for fired workers and as increasingly empowered decision-makers involved in everything from personnel decisions to war games to surveillance.

Again, it is a full-blown federal felony crime for anyone in the White House or Executive Office of the President to order tax investigations into anyone.
And it's not just a crime to DO it, it's even a federal crime for an employee not to REPORT such an order to the Treasury Inspector General.
