I forgot you are a physics guy

Solid phase separation has always existed. Definition is not solid or liquid, it's ability to exchange material between surrounding and itself. Analogies like dripping oil etc are the problem though TBF it's impossible to come up with a single analogy to explain all of phase separation.

Most systems neuroscientists think firing patterns and behaviors is all you need to understand brain. No molecular/cell biology needed. A whole generation of scientists have now grown up with this belief. Glossy journals and POs have drunk this coolaid. You should talk to your friends about this 😄

Yeah lacks details. It says US is two years behind but in mindset I think we are decades behind. Unfortunately this is due to the academic cottage industry on CRISPR "advances", countering mythical "off target effects", and advocating unfounded claims of how a whiff of Cas9 is gonna kill us all.

One of the most frustrating things for me is that I cannot summarize what my lab does. Huge problem when asked for elevator-pitch or speaker-summary. Super jealous of people who "build a unique xyz model system" and evaluate that system for the rest of their career.

AAV9 for broad brain delivery to the human brain? Hard to believe this will work, unless they have biomarker data which is doubtful given the target.
