In my latest post I revisit the subject of witchcraft in Shropshire and discuss its historic and folkloric legacy. This is my most comprehensive study of the subject so far! I hope you enjoy!

My Archaeology and Disability 🏺♿ course starts on 1/5, but I'm traveling with my family 12/17–1/2, so I am getting everything ready now! I'm really excited about the grading (or, really, #ungrading) structure of the course, which gives students a lot of freedom, choice, and room for risk-taking! 🧵

Cadbury Milk Tray Bar (1947-1981): A massive milk chocolate bar, made in a special mold that featured 14 individual pieces of chocolate, all connected, and each with a different filling. It was essentially an entire box of chocolates in bar form, available only in the U.K.

This is not true.

These are the figures for England and Wales (where the 1996 Treasure Act and subsequent amendments apply).

It's a complete mess.

There have long been rumors that the Skull and Bones fraternity house in New Haven contains the skull of Apache leader Geronimo.

A researcher unearthed a letter in 2006 that seemed to corroborate that claim.

I found two more letters in Yale’s archives, along with more corroborating evidence.

"Theory has not always played a prominent role in Australian archaeology. The real archaeologist excavates a deep hole with Pleistocene dates; virtue is seen in rugged, remote fieldwork and dirt archaeology. Data/digging/masculinity is positioned in opposition to theory/armchair/femininity. The latter is not seen as ‘real’ archaeology. I remember being told by another archaeologist, literally while we were excavating, that they hoped one day I would lose this obsession with theory." - Alice Gorman 2016
