Interesting discussion re use of author blurbing authors
The problem is unlike movies who have trailers, music who have Spotify, theatre who have reviews and permanent venues, books are purely cover, title, name and blurb to send a message in seconds when browsing.

BBC budget astronomically higher than PBS. Service would have to be drastically reduced from where it is now if it was funded through general taxation, which would also be hugely vuneraable to huge cuts from a future right leaning government.
