1.1.1 Studies within the PATHWAYS programme 1.1.1.1 PATHWAYS HORIZON PATHWAYS HORIZON is an observational cohort (n~3600) of all CYP attending the Children and Young Persons Gender service (CYPGS). HORIZON participants will be asked to complete questionnaire measures about their experiences, mental health, and quality of life on an annual basis throughout the course of the study. The study will last for the duration of the funding period (5.5 years). 1.1.1.2 HORIZON Intensive In addition, we will recruit CYP to HORIZON Intensive from the HORIZON cohort who will be broadly matched to those participating in TRIAL, providing a non-randomised comparison group. Confirmed. Both “Pathway Trial” and “Pathway Horizon Intensive” exclude the GAHT cohorts.

Apparently, they are comparing two groups, with one group experiencing an arbitrary one-year delay in prescription. But where is the group that skips the blockers entirely and goes straight to GAHT? You need to include that group as a variable for the study to be scientifically valid, right?
