Just moved a massive monstera and bird of paradise 1400 miles in the back of a U-Haul over 3 days. Kept the struggling leaves on as sacrificial padding and trimmed them when we arrived. Both are thriving with new leaves unfurled already. It never got too cold, which I think was the main trick.
