I think it's rearrange, not sort (sort is custom), and then I think you get an option to how you want to arrange, one of which is by type

@chuggaaconroy.bsky.social I don't believe you've shared this but a nice QOL thing in KH1: if you click on an ability and then select, I think it's sort, something like that, in the next menu, the abilities will auto sort themselves by type, so all the limits are together, all the finishers, etc.
