The "Bruce Harrell for Seattle's Future" PAC has raised more money from Medina residents than the "Katie Wilson for an Affordable Seattle" PAC has raised overall.

I was just as shocked with the news about the route 2 bus only lane as you. We are working on it. We need to prioritize pedestrian safety and not go backwards on our transit investments.

Bus only lane at 12th Ave

Confirmed: SDOT will be removing the bus only lane on E Union Street this weekend, ceding this part of the $130 million RapidRide G project back to general purpose traffic in response to requests from nearby property owners.

During my 3 years living in Seattle without a car, my access to parks and nature was significantly constrained. Many of Seattle’s coastal parks are hard to reach by transit. So are the out-of-town hikes.

We can do better to ensure everyone can enjoy the natural beauty of the PNW

Why have I not seen one Seattle news outlet localize what the Jimmy Kimmel thing means on the local level? Because it means a lot.

Sinclair - the company that did this to him - owns KOMO. And they're bowing to the FCC so they can merge with Nextstar/TEGNA, which just bought KING 5.

While renters are "growth" that must be "mitigated" by requiring every part of the city to accept a fair share of them, house owners are "community" who deserve a veto over whether and how anyone else can live near them

If only the 2023 Seattle City Council close election results went the other way. Housing policy in this comp plan would be less status quo & more equitable with Ron Davis and Andrew Lewis instead of Rivera and Kettle.

Davis lost by 235 votes.
Lewis lost by 439 votes.

Odd year elections must go.

MLK Labor has dual endorsed Katie Wilson, months after sole endorsing Bruce Harrell. Endorsements from elected who take the group’s lead, like Teresa Mosqueda, will follow

We have a very good Public Disclosure Act in the state of Washington. SPD has ginned up a way to violate the law, which both violates the intent and letter of the PDA and discourages public records requests, which SPD's communications office often directs me to file instead of answering questions.

I made an animated gif comparing the best possible zoning map we can implement (Alternative 5) and Mayor Harrell's proposed plan.

In short, Harrell undermined what would have been a transformative housing plan, betraying everyday Seattleites and leaving us with scraps.

Are you a human being, and not a car? Would you like your health, safety, and quality of life to be more important than someone else’s money? Vote @wilsonforseattle.bsky.social in November.

Man struck from behind while biking on section of Lake Washington Blvd where city dropped planned safetyΒ upgrades Photo from Bradley Hawkins. If you've ever seen someone biking around town pulling a bright yellow cello case in a bike trailer, you've seen Bradley Hawkins. Even without his cello, he's a self-identified "die-hard bicycle dude" who has been biking pretty much everywhere for a long time. But all that could have easily come to an end last week when someone driving a Hyundai Elantra ran into him from behind while he was biking on Lake Washington Boulevard on a section of road where…

You don’t get a citizenship interview unless you hold a green card and have done everything exactly right. There is absolutely no fig leaf of legality for ICE to hide behind here. This was a legal immigrant and veteran.

Agents have detained Muhammad Zahid Chaudhry, a disabled U.S. military vet and outspoken critic of U.S.-led war, after his naturalization hearing today at the Tukwila, WA ICE office. His wife, Melissa Chaudhry, ran against Rep. Adam Smith last year on a pro-Palestine platform.

SPD has effectively figured out a way to keep records secret from the public: First, refuse to give simple information like police reports to certain members of the media, telling them "do a PDR." Then, refuse to work on more than one request at a time, and take forever to respond.

Alexis Mercedes Rinck is spending her Saturday going to neighborhood centers her amendment would restore to the Comp Plan, talking to community members about their housing stories.

Joined them in N Capitol Hill (Roanoke) and then tagged along by bike as they went to the next one, in Seward Park.

I apologize for the lack of reporting. Not eating makes one weak. Most of the day, I can barely stand. As hunger deepens, Gaza’s journalists will fall silent, one by one.

Less and less will come out.

And then, in the silent abyss, we will all starve to death with our families.

End Israel’s starvation of Palestinian journalists in Gaza!

I’m thinking this morning about all the people who I thought were pro-housing & pro-transit who endorsed Bruce Harrell, who hasn’t lifted a finger for either in his whole career, and wondering if any of them will have the integrity to admit that they made a mistake in pursuit of access & influence.
