It’s does have its “of its time” moments, but otherwise it’s a pretty straightforward folk horror story. The tale is fairly simple, the “groovy” bits are mostly just there for atmosphere and tension building.

John Wick, Wicker Man, and Wicked make for a *very* odd trilogy.

1. Dogs have nictitating membranes, too! We had a pup with one that couldn’t retract all the way, it’s a (generally) harmless condition they call cherry eye.

They vary in size. I’ve seen ghs’s that are easily 4” toe to toe, but most are 2-3. They’re not like tarantula sized, but they’re not small!

Orb weavers? They’re lovely, and they’d probably prefer living in the garden. You can spray diluted peppermint oil (when they’re not around) on your door and window frames to deter them from putting webs there without harming them.
